Nature Matters - an exhibition by Art with Annalisa

Nature Matters

An exhibition of Paintings and Drawings by the art collective

“Art With Annalisa”

Opens April 24th and runs until May 5th - Wednesdays to Sundays 11-4pm (but please check HERE if you’re making a special trip as opening times may vary on certain days)

Back in January 2019 I joined an adult education Art Class at the Francis Xavier 6th Form College, Clapham South. The tutor was Annalisa! It was a friendly group which I immediately felt part of.

Later that year, the College closed its adult education courses, but to keep the class going, Annalisa rented the lovely tall-ceiling’d, large window’d room where we continued to meet until … the Pandemic hit in March 2020.

Annalisa is from South East London, so had to let us go.  For some of us, the Pandemic brought changes to their lives and others moved.  But a core group of the original class continued to find ways of meeting – spread out on the Common, or in someone’s back garden, wherever we could within the Lockdown rules!  ‘Art with Annalisa’ became our WhatsApp moniker!

Now, in 2024, we continue to meet!  We’ve had occasional excursions to Battersea Park and a favourite venue is the Eden Garden beside St. Paul’s Church, Clapham Old Town.  We can now include indoors in someone’s house when we need shelter from the rain or cold, and we’ve also been welcomed in the lovely space of the Ascension Church in Malwood Road, Clapham – right opposite our starting place, the Francis Xavier 6th Form College!

Our Exhibition includes members of our group, Annalisa herself, and one or two special painting friends.

We do hope to see you
