My artwork is inspired by the act of travelling through environments; observing, recording and reacting to the variety of life and landscape around us. The term ‘The Decisive Moment’ (Cartier-Bresson) reverberates with my own practise; that creative moment when you intuitively decide to capture an image, making that vital decision to stop and record.
For me, this is the moment that has such an emotional impact that it draws the viewer in, either through their recognition of the scene or because it is bringing something new to their consciousness. I express this through fine-art painting, etching and photography.
